All the cities of India can be accessed by air, rail or road
from other cities of India. Airports in India have direct, domestic
and international flights. As well, India has a well designed
rail and road system, which is connects other Indian cities.
Indian Rails :
One
of the longest rail tracks, Indian Railway system is the fourth
most heavily used system in the world - for both passenger
and freight. The Indian railway is an integral part of the
Indian travel experience. There are several different classes;
tourists should travel express or mail trains.India Rapid
Transit System In 1984, Calcutta opened its metro system.
It carries approximately 50, 000 passengers daily. Rapid transit
systems are now operating in Madras, and near completion in
New Delhi.
Indian Roads :
India has almost 2 million km of surfaced roads, and more
than 1 million km constructed of gravel, crushed stone, or
earth. Fifty-three national highways carry 40% of road traffic.
Urban transit is made up of buses, mini buses, cars, taxis,
motorcycles, auto rickshaws, and bicycle rickshaws. You can
rent a car, or hire a car and driver easily.
Airports :
There
are major international airports at Mumbai, Delhi, Calcutta,
Madras, and Trivandrum. International service is also available
from Goa, Bangalore, and Hyderabad. India's major domestic
airline has an extensive network. Major regional airports
are located in Ahmedabad, Allahabad, Pune, Srinagar, Chandigarh,
Cochin, and Nagpur.
